Shangri La Resort & Spa

Hotel Review

This is a truly spectacular new hotel which opened in November 2005. It is a couple of small bays away from the Al Bustan Palace, and is set on a wonderful stretch of private beach. Behind the hotel is the rugged mountain interior of Oman.

Some of the highlights include the unique open-air amphitheatre for evening entertainment, the Omani Heritage Village which contains some items from up to 2000 BC that were discovered while the hotel was being built, and the lazy river which allows guests to travel by boat from one part of the resort to another.

There are three types of accommodation available - first, the 5* Al Waha with luxurious sea view rooms including superior and deluxe, and second, 5*+ Al Bandar - all deluxe sea facing rooms, and finally, 6* Al Husn with truly deluxe rooms.

For dinner, you will have a huge choice of no less than 19 fine restauants in the Piazza, including cuising from around the globe.

So who does this appeal to? Individual travellers, couples and small familes will all enjoy a wide variety of activities and excursions, as well as a great choice of restaurants for the evening.
